The last month has been busy. I spoke at Mount Paran North’s Women’s Conference on the subject Your Story, God’s Ministry. My goal was to encourage audience members to tell their stories of God’s redemption in their lives to inspire and encourage someone else. I talked about people recorded in the bible whose paths weren’t smooth but whose stories inspire so many. Moses, Gideon, Paul and Esther were the examples I chose to illuminate, but before I discussed their lives I talked about my own.
I’ve said before that college was a tumultuous time for me. By the end of college I was full of faith and devotion to God, but at the start of it, my life was just the opposite. I lacked faith and I was unfaithful to God in so many ways. I dabbled in other religions. I rejected Christians on campus. I did everything not to be identified as one of those Christ followers who I thought seemed rigid and irrelevant. But when I was unfaithful God wasn’t. I shared at Bloom that a scripture that I love is Jeremiah 29:13, “You will seek me and find me when you search for me with all your heart.” That scripture makes me want to preach because I know it’s true. I encourage you to look for God when things around you seem out of order, hopeless, or rife with godlessness.
In a few weeks, I’m headed to the Write to Publish Conference to continue our author’s journey. I will meet with the agent who is mentoring me and Joshua concerning our book, College Prep for Christians. If you’ve never read any of the free chapters we’ve published, please do and if they help you, pass them on to someone else you know. Remember, telling your story allows God to work His ministry.
